Permanent Residency -  Cyprus

Cyprus throughout the years has adopted several procedures and regulations which enable non-EU citizens to obtain different kinds of permits in order to be able to live, or retire in Cyprus.
The most popular permit, apart of the acquirement of citizenship, is the immigration Permit “Category F”, details of which are described, in brief, herein.
“Category F”, allows the holder to stay in Cyprus forever under certain requirements. The holder can be absent from Cyprus for up to 2 years without a problem but is not entitled to engage in any form of business in Cyprus or to
take up any form of employment, paid or unpaid, in Cyprus.
immigration Permit Category F:
Those entitled to Category F Permit are persons who have a secured annual income high enough to give them a decent living in Cyprus, without having to be engaged in any business, trade or profession. Presence in Cyprus is not needed for the filing of the application.
Must Have Documents:
1. An application must be submitted — Application Form M67 Category F.
2. Short Curriculum Vitae.
3. Documentary evidence that the applicant has in his own and free control a secured annual income (pension, dividends, interest from deposits and anything which can be considered as income) of a sufficient amount to
support himself whilst in Cyprus.
4. The secured annual income must be over €30.000 plus €10.000 for each dependent person. The bigger amount you declare the better.
5. For all the above documents originals or officially certified copies are required.
6. Bank Account in Cyprus - copy of Bank statement (deposit in the region of €70.000 — 95.000).
7. Rental Agreement for a house to be used by the holder (exceptionally).
- Application from candidates. who have acquired a private house of considerable value for the candidate’s own use in Cyprus. Will make the application considered extremely favorably '
8. Health Insurance.
9. Criminal record for all persons over 16years of age.
10. Marriage Certificate.
11. Children’s birth certificate.
12. Valid passports.
13. Photos.
 
NOTES
1. Processing of the application usually takes 9-12 months but the applicant does not need to be in Cyprus during the whole of this period.
2. The applicant must be ready to visit Cyprus for an interview for which he will be notified by the Cyprus Authorities.
3. Marriage and birth certificates should be apostil or certified by a Cyprus Embassy/Consulate.
Also for Immigration Permit Category F a new and accelerated procedure according to Regulation 6 (2) has been recently implemented details of which are described as follows:
 
Criteria:
- The applicant must prove that he has at his disposal a secured minimum annual income of €30.000, from sources other than employment in Cyprus. The required income of €30.000 could derive from salaries of employment abroad and not in Cyprus such as pensions, stock shares, rents, etc. The necessary minimum annual income is increased by €5.000
for each dependent person.
- The applicant must submit the application form accompanied with a Title of Deed or contract of sale, of a property in Cyprus such as a house, apartment or other building, of a minimum market value of €300.000 plus VAT and proof of payment for at least €200.000. The contract of sale should already have been submitted with the Department of Lands
and Surveys.
- The applicant must submit a confirmation letter from a Cypriot Bank stating that he has deposited a minimum capital of €30.000 in an account, which will be pledged for a three years period, at least. All other documents needed are the same as needed for the “normal” procedure for Category F.

NOTES
1. Processing of the application usually takes 2-4 months but the applicant does not need to be in Cyprus during the whole of this period.
2. The applicant must be ready to visit Cyprus for an interview for which he will be notified by the Cyprus Authorities.
3. Marriage and birth certificates should be apostil or certified by a Cyprus Embassy/Consulate.
General Note: All the amounts mentioned herein, for both procedures, must be proven to have been transferred to Cyprus from abroad.
